Phuket west coast beaches offer easy access to dive sites that can be done in just an hour. Shore dives are found along the main beaches on the west coast or just a few minutes from shore by a local wooden motor-boat (The Long-tail boat). Snorkeling also is easily done without requiring a guide. The dive sites are available Nov-April annually.
Kata Reef, named as one of Asia Best Shore Dive sites by Asian Diver, is known as the ‘nursery’ of Phuket, you can see more juveniles and baby fish here than any other place in the Andaman sea. It is perfect not only for try-dives for first timers, training dives, night dives and refresher dives but also great place for experienced divers who loves the Macro stuff.
Karon Rock and Koh Pu (can be reached by a traditional Thai Longtail boat) are suitable for both beginners and experienced divers with cameras on a short excursion to see as many unique and vibrant marine life as on a day trip to nearby islands; Ghost pipefish, Stick pipefish, Nudi-branches, various shrimps & crabs and much more. EASY, FUN & POPULAR!
